Kessels (b. 1966, Amsterdam) culled various themes from thousands of found images appropriated from hundreds of different sources and anonymous recorders.</p><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/>]]></description>

					  <description><![CDATA[Now up on YouTube: video of Danielle Levitt's lecture from November 13, 2007.<br/><br/>Parsons presented this talk at Aperture's gallery in Chelsea. Levitt&#8217;s distinctive approach to representing pop culture has gained a wide following in both the fashion and art worlds.&nbsp; <br/><br/>In the first clip, Levitt discusses her first job, and the beginnings of her signature style.&nbsp; In the second, she discusses her motivations for photographing "ordinary" people.<br/><br/>

					  <title><![CDATA[Justin Guariglia and Shi De Chao At The Rubin Museum Of Art]]></title>

					  <description><![CDATA[On October 17th, 2007, Aperture joined with Chelsea's Rubin Museum of Art to promote the Aperture book <em>Shaolin: Temple of Zen</em>.&nbsp; Its photographer, Justin Guariglia, slowly but surely won the trust of the notoriously secretive warrior monks of the Shaolin Temple over a period of eight years.&nbsp; That night, he presented Shaolin monk Shi De Chao, who demonstrated the martial art of Shaolin kung fu to the captivated crowd.<br/><br/>Over the next few days, <em>Exposures</em> will present video from that night.&nbsp; Today, some words from Michelle Dunn, Aperture's deputy director, and Justin Guariglia, along with photos taken by Aperture's Rich Hendricks.&nbsp; Click on the "Read Full Entry" link below for more.<br/><br/>The <em>Shaolin: Temple of Zen </em>microsite has information, a sneak peek of the book, and more original video.&nbsp; <a href="http://exposures.aperture.org/shaolin" target="_blank">Visit the microsite...</a><br/><br/>

<p>Thomas Allen received the prestigious McKnight Artist Fellowship for Photographers in 1997 and is represented by <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:State><st1:place>New York</st1:place></st1:State>'s Foley Gallery and Thomas Barry Fine Arts.&nbsp; Chip Kidd is an internationally renowned graphic designer, author, comic book expert, and associate art director at Alfred P.
